Morales and Shoaff Victorious at Invasion 3
October 13th, 2011

Aurora, Illinois (IL) -- Last Friday night in front of a packed house at La Sierra De Aurora Restaurante & Banquets in Aurora, CutThroat MMA's Invasion 3 provided an opportunity for both Carlson Gracie's Danny Morales and Tom Shoaff to showcase their talents against two extremely tough opponents.
Tension for the members of Carlson Gracie Team MMA in attendance ran high as Tom Shoaff stepped into the cage against rival Tim Young from neighboring rival Full Mount MMA of Aurora. Tom Shoaff's reputation as a striking ace when matched against Tim Young's wrestling experience on paper left many understandably nervous for the rising Carlson Gracie star's chances for another win. Young played into everyones worst fears as he quickly took Tom to the ground and tried to inflict some ground and pound damage. Tom quickly neutralized the threat and showed that he is also very capable and dangerous on the ground by baiting Young into a submission ending arm bar and remaining undefeated in the CutThroat cage!
Later that night for the 170lb CutThroat MMA Championship fight, Carlson Gracie's Danny Morales made a grand entrance with a full Mariachi band leading the way and a grand statement with his work in the cage immediately after. Facing an experienced Martyn Jimenez, who was touted as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu prodigy from H.I.T. Kickboxing, Danny was expected to face a fierce technical ground battle from his toughest ground opponent to date. Many felt Danny might not be ready to be tested against such a skilled opponent. Danny quickly proved them wrong as he dodged a flying arm bar attempt by Jimenez and sealed his victory with several brutal punches to the stunned Jimenez's face. Danny stood proudly at the end of the night with the Mexican flag draped over his shoulders and the CutThroat Welterweight Championship Belt around his waist!
The two 170lb teammates are now quickly being regarded as the twin terrors of the amateur 170lb ranks in the Chicagoland area.
Jeff Neal added at the end of the night, 'How fortunate are we to have not one but two fighters at the 170lb weight class with the talent level and ability of these two fighters? The fights tonight were really fun to be a part of because the room was packed, the opponents were tough and yet they both came through with strong victories. I am really proud of our team tonight and this shows what we can accomplish.'
The future is definately bright for these two top propsects and we cant wait till they get into the cage again!
