Boxing Coach Gustavo Pique's classes to begin on Tuesday July 26th

Aurora, Illinois (IL) -- After much anticipation, Boxing Coach Gustavo Pique will run his first class at Carlson Gracie Team MMA - Aurora / Naperville on Tuesday night!  The former member of the Cuban National Boxing team and trainer to the likes of Demian Maia, Murilo 'Ninja' Rua, Rory Markham, will be teaching four classes per week including one on Sunday afternoons.

The addition of Coach Pique to the Carlson Gracie Team MMA Coaching staff is reuniting as the high level boxing coach and a number of the current Carlson Gracie Team MMA coaches and members have had coaching experiences in the past together at Overtime MMA in Naperville Illinois. The choice to come to Carlson Gracie Team MMA now that his time with Overtime MMA was done was an easy and natural one for Coach Pique.

Head Coach Jeff Neal was very excited about the addition to the coaching staff, 'Gustavo coming onto our coaching staff is almost like a homecoming.  All of our coaches know Gustavo and the credentials he brings.  We are very happy to have him on our coaching staff.'  He also added, 'We now have both Angel Manfredy and Gustavo Pique as our boxing coaches.  Its going to be hard to find better Boxing Classes, Boxing Lessons, or Boxing Instruction than that at other Boxing Schools or Boxing Training Gyms in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area!'

Coach Gustavo Pique will start with an initial schedule for the Aurora / Naperville gym; Mondays (begins 8/1) 6pm - 7pm, Tuesdays (begins 7/26) 7:30 - 8:30pm, Fridays (begins 7/29) 5:30 - 6:30pm, Sundays (begins 7/31) 11am - 12pm.

Carlson Gracie Team MMA students are looking forward to training with the coach whose career accomplishments include:

- Former training partner of Felix Trinidad, Meldrick Taylor, Alberto Cortez, Angel Manfredy, and many others

- Striking Coach to professional MMA fighters: Demian Maia, Murilo 'Ninja' Rua, Rory Markham.

- Was an athlete as well as team captain of the Cuban Boxing National Team during the World Championships in Belgrade, Yugoslavia '78 and Munich, Germany '82

- Was a member of the Cuban Team in the Pan Ams games in Caracas, Venezuela '83 and Havana, Cuba'91

- Boxer and Member of the Cuban Team with 237 personal bouts in Cuba and International tournaments.

- Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Cuban team in the '89 World Championships in Moscow, Soviet Union.

- Graduated at Havana University departments of Athletics. BA in Kinesiology and Exercise Science completing courses in biomechanics, exercise physiology,sports psychology and principle of fitness.
