Muay Thai class added to Minooka !

Minooka, Illinois ( IL ) — Tuesday night's schedule has been changed! Muay Thai has been added to the Minooka schdule on Tuesday night from 7pm - 7:30pm. BJJ class has been moved to 6:30 - 7:00 pm.

Aurora, Illinois ( IL ) — Adv. Muay Thai class has been rolled into the regular Muay Thai schedule.

Evanston, Illinois ( IL ) —On Sunday August 22nd, 2010 the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) held arguably the most prestigious tournament to ever be conducted in the Chicagoland area.  The IBJJF, a major governing body for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and organizer of several of the biggest tournaments in the world including the Mundials, Pan American, and European Championships, presented the region the Chicago International Open Championships.

The Carlson Gracie Team set their sites on this tournament which was coveted by both schools regionally and nationally.  At the end of the tournament, Carlson Gracie Team stood tall with a second place finish beating all regional schools and finishing second to only Loyd Irvin's school from the East Coast!

Carlson Gracie Team Coach and Black Belt Jason Sullins remarked on his team's successful performance, 'We have an incredible work ethic here. The guys work hard, we train hard, and we don't take a whole lot of time off. We have very committed students and competitors here and that makes a difference.'

Already dominating the regional tournaments, this was just the type of recognition the team was looking for.  With enormous momentum built through several tournaments this year we can only expect more success to come!

Schaumburg, Illinois ( IL ) — Coming in mid-September Carlson Gracie Team MMA will open the doors to a brand new Mixed Martial Arts training school right in the heart of Schaumburg!

Located less than a half-mile from the Woodfield Mall the 6,000 sq ft training school will offer training, classes, and lessons in the disciplines of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ( BJJ ), Muay Thai, Boxing, and Wrestling.

Babes and Brawls IV winner by submission!

Ford Heights, Illinois ( IL ) — This past Saturday night Carlson Gracie Team MMA Muay Thai Instructor Viet Nguyen laid it all on the line in the cage at Babes and Brawls IV! The pressure was high as the house was packed tightly not only with mixed martial arts fans but also a large number of Carlson Gracie Team MMA students. The tension in the building thick as this popular Muay Thai fighter made a spectacular entrance with elements of both Muay Thai and Gracie tradition. After appearing at the stage entrance, Nguyen honored Muay Thai tradition by bowing to the corners and then made his way to the cage at the front of a Gracie style line

Ford Heights, Illinois ( IL ) — The first Muay Thai fight to ever be featured at Babes and Brawls this past Saturday night turned into a clinic of striking put on by Carlson Gracie Team MMA fighter Lukasz Banach. Many Carlson Gracie Team MMA gym members in attendance are familiar with Lukasz's skills from witnessing the frequent hard sparring he practices in the ring at the Aurora / Naperville gym.  However, even those members came away impressed at the masterful showcase of strikes which featured a variety of kicks whose crack on contact was heard clearly through the packed room.

C3 - Patriot Games Results
August 2nd, 2010

Indianna University Northwest ( IN ) —This past Saturday July 31st, the Carlson Gracie Team MMA Jiu-Jitsu Team took on top regional competition at the renowned Corral's Combat Classic - Patriot Games Jiu-Jitsu and grappling tournament.  The C3 tournament was the first of a series of three large Jiu-Jistu and grappling tournaments in the area that conclude on Labor day weekend.

The Jiu-Jitsu competition team members had been training hard through the heat of the summer months honing their technique.  They came in eager and ready to stake claim to being the best of the best by showing a dominant performance at the first of the three tournaments.

Carlson Gracie Team MMA - Minooka Schedule Change
July 27th, 2010

Minooka, Illinois ( IL ) — All classes will be canceled this Saturday, July 31st, so that coaches and members can participate in or attend this weekend's 'C3 - The Patriot Games' Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling tournament.
